Mindfulness for prosperity and happiness course

Mindfulness for success

Mindfulness for positive change online course

Overcome negative thinking,  experience inner peace and begin to create a more prosperous and successful life with this 6 weeks online course.

As many of you may have noticed I have moved away from tarot much since this site began.

It’s funny, as I have begun to undergo my own awakening and self growth and learning through my holistic counseling,  I have found that many people require healing as much as they yearn for guidance through tarot.

This is not to say that tarot does not have its place (I promise my next post will be tarot focused :). I am excited to go through the minor Arcana). It’s more that support and development sometimes requires more.

The tarot is a great tool for guidance but self mastery and healing are being shown to me as  much needed with people undergoing awakening and dissatisfaction in a society that has become empty of heart. And my Dharma/Karma is ever leading me to enrichen my knowledge and practice.

Why Mindfulness?

The purpose of our lives is to be happy. – Dalai Lama

Mindfulness is an enriching process of creating positive life altering changes, that if continued, will effect your well being and life forever. Mind, body and spirit.

Take a deep breath in and be aware of how this idea feels. Breathe into it and be with it. Now let it go.

You’ve done it. Your first mindfulness practice, easy wasn’t it?

Practicing mindfulness Over a few weeks you will deepen your inner connection. You will experience shifts in your inner life, your brain will begin to create new neural pathways, your body will experience healing and repair and your spirit will be lifted (literally).

Mindfulness is an Ancient Buddhist practice that basically means: The ability to focus one’s attention on the present moment. To be aware without judgment and to be with whatever is arising.

It uses the principles of:
and surrender to move our minds from the endless chatter into a more peaceful and useful state.

When we become aware of our thoughts we can choose how we respond to them. This is where acceptance comes in – being present to what arises without judgment, just being with it – cultivates acceptance. Acceptance of what is. When we accept what is happening, we begin to disengage the struggle, the resistance, the fight. This is a fundamental principle of mindfulness. It is what opens the pathway to a loving kindness (compassion) for the self, which heals us, and for surrender (letting go).

It is important to note that surrender in Buddhist philosophy does not contain negative connotations that we in the Western world have attributed to it. It means to let go of attachments (of the mind) to something. In this case a thought or a feeling.

We become aware of it – we be with it – we meet it with loving kindness – we let it go.

Most people are living, acting, reacting from their subconscious mind. Mindfulness brings these subconscious thoughts to the surface, so that we can begin to move from a new and better informed place.

Research shows that the brain is elastic, meaning it is able to change. This change occurs through practical measures. By repeating something over and over we change the neural pathways in our brain, we change our subconscious patterns and we begin to create new ones. But this takes time and practice.

Mindfulness  practice that uses techniques that help us begin to become aware and abiding in the present moment. But, we can also take it a step further, to change the negative patterns and behaviours, and bring in more success promoting thoughts and beliefs. By using techniques that create new and transformative mind suggestions so we can begin to manifest success in ways we never thought possible.

“People are… Full of contradictions. They’re lonely. And then they’re not. They’re missed. And then they’re not.”– Kou Yoneda

Two of SwordsThe Two of swords depicts a blindfolded woman sitting in front of the sea of rocky waters, under the waxing moon, holding two swords crossed over her in a sign of protection.

The blindfold represents the unseeing mind – there is a decision to be made and the woman has closed off her seeing as she is not wanting to make a decision. The choppy and rocky sea represents the inability for any ships to enter – that the necessary resources are distant and inaccessible.

Swords are about, ideas, intellect, thoughts and imagination – they are crossed and defending in this card- therefore blocking any progress or creative solution.

The moon is shining it’s light trying to let in the intuitive guidance but the blindfold and swords are blocking any possibility of progress, solution or moving forward. The woman knows what is happening but she is blindfolding truth and blocking off any new ideas and life. She is in denial.

The two of swords is about having to make a decision but not wanting to change or grow – it is about wanting things to stay the same and not being prepared to see the truth of a situation and make changes. It indicates a situation that is not healthy, that is not going anywhere (the rocky sea) but the person not being willing to look and to make changes.

Two of swords newThere could be many contradicting elements – the heart and the head may be at extreme opposites. The intellect may need to be released so that the positive thoughts, ideas and solutions will come forward. Continuing on as things are is stopping the positive resourceful growth of everyone involved.

The person is being asked to not be passive, to let go of old behaviours of sitting in pain and stagnant waters. To release the swords of false protection and allow in the beauty of the hearts language, the intuitive offerings of the moon.

In love this card is saying you are stuck in an unhappy situation that you see no way of getting out of. There are opportunities there but you will not open to them because you are not wanting to see the truth.

You are staying in unhealthy patterns and relationships as you are too afraid to create the necessary changes from within you. You are choosing to sit in the pain – guarding yourself from newness and happiness as you are afraid of change and growth and vulnerability.

Two of Swords denialThis card comes up in a reading to remind you that denial will not help, it will recreate more of the same and worse. Blocking of the flow and abundance of love and resources effects the entire community.

You are being advised that it is safe to listen to the inner truths of your heart – that it is safe to follow your hearts desires for they seek for happiness.

If you have met someone new, this card may be showing that you are in two minds, that you are still using your intellect to guide your heart.

You may be holding back and not sure what path to take. Your past may be effecting your decisions.

This card is advising that you must release the fears and the idea of control and follow the path of nurturing and love – or you will lose its beauty and will end up sitting in a life of continuing pain and sadness, not willing to move forward – being controlled by the past.

The Two of swords indicates that the new relationship has vast potential but your intellect or fear may be the only thing stopping it from progressing to the next level.

If single it is heeding that you may be in a rut and that it is time to release old stories and seek openness to new love.

In work, goals and projects this card can mean that you have a serious decision to make but may be only seeing half the picture – you may be looking only at the financial side of things and have forgotten the original passion and creativity that was present in the beginning.

It is asking you to look closer at your situation from a holistic perspective and also possibly to let go of old ways so as to bring in new ideas and solutions to help the work or project grow.

Two of swords truthSpiritually this card portends a need to undergo a transformation of ego mind – the many conflicts and dramas in your life have brought you to  a stale mate and you hiding away from the inner truths that are trying to speak to you.

You may have shut down emotionally or be blocking growth by recreating old patterns of the mind.

This card is asking you to find the courage of honesty and vulnerability to undergo the necessary growth and transformation to make leaps in improving your levels of life and happiness.

It is advising that the swords are falsely protecting you – it is time to release the shields – that you are safe to allow in truth and move forward in your life path.

Denial will hold you in a space of stagnation and egoic confusion and your true essence will continue to fight from an inner scope creating more conflict, more unresolved drama and more pain.

Remember the three of cups is the next card (it is the card of heartbreak) and if you don’t adhere the guidance of the Two of Swords you will fall into the three of cups without further ado.

Denial is a coping mechanism that gives you time to adjust to distressing situations — but staying in denial can interfere with treatment or your ability to tackle challenges. If you’re in denial, you’re trying to protect yourself by refusing to accept the truth about something that’s happening in your life – Psychology about.com

love two of swordsThe Two of swords has promise – it is asking you to release the old thought patterns, to embrace your intuition and to move from the messages of the heart – it is telling you that it is safe to face the truth of your life and your situation and that once you do so you will bring in love, peace and the magic that is your potential.

You will be supported and loved if you let go and open up, the two of swords wants you to know this and is warning you that if you stay in the repression and oppression of the past and the untruths of the mind you will not experience the wonder and beauty of the life that awaits you on the other side of your heart.

You have a choice over your destiny… well mostly 🙂

Strength tarot card meaning

Endurance is the means to higher consciousness and the Strength tarot card gives us clarity, peace and assurance that we have mastered our inner world therefore taking responsibility for our outer world.

counselling BrisbaneIn the traditional tarot a woman (with the symbol of infinity above her head) tames a lion under a golden sky. The trinity representing self mastery and  endurance. And, the taming of the lion, through petting, shows she has used more than outer strength to overcome the trials of the world around her; she has mastered her inner world and used the beauty of the feminine (balanced consciousness) to bring peace and calmness.

Keywords for Strength tarot card : Balance, peace, inner mastery, overcoming challenges, Energy, willpower, healing, awake

When we have an awakening (usually due to a major life change eg ending a relationship, starting a new one, new jobs etc), when we wake up to truth, we often go through a period of endurance. Integrating our new consciousness, processing our old truths, releasing pains and rebirthing a new way of being and seeing.

When the strength card comes up in a tarot reading it is saying that this period of integration and level of awakening has passed, that you have endured and formed a more honest and empowering strength that matches  the vibrations of the universe.

Much healing has taken place.

It is announcing that it is time to go forward with your new strengths and knowings; it’s saying you have found the spiritual balance and you can create the right life from a level of awareness and inner power that self mastery allows.

Well done. You have endured and been brave, honest and open.

Stand back and take a look at yourself and feel the inner peace and see how balanced and alive your life is. Look at your outer world and you will see that you have created something lovely. You will notice that the people in your life reflect your new found strength. Your children will be thriving and happy, your friends and family will match your positive strength and you will be attracting like minded into your sphere. You will notice you are being loved and embraced by the entire community. You are being appreciated for all your giving and altruistic might.

strength voyager tarotIn love the strength tarot card depicts a sense of patience and will to overcome. If you are in a relationship it may be saying that you have endured a difficult time and you have overcome self defeating unconscious matter and are now in a position to move forward into a more open-minded honest level of love. Challenges have been overcome and a more peaceful loving relationship is available to the two of you.

If the relationship is not equal or no longer serving, this cards reflects that you have endured enough and you have gained the inner strength to confront the necessary changes that need to take place. You will stand strong in your inner convictions, needs and wants and will have the will power to ask for what you need but to also walk away if you need.

Sometimes this card suggests that you need to be very brave – more so than normal – to set boundaries that you may not want to for the sake of self preservation or to overcome less than sincere or loving people. But, also that you do have the inner reserve and confidence to do so – the deep inner knowing from past experience helps you gather this strength.

If you are single it may be portending a time of accepting your readiness to allow in a new love. It can be alerting you to the fact that you are ready and can manifest a genuine love that matches your new vibration of self power and inner strength. It may be suggesting that someone of equal strength and awareness and value will enter. It is saying be your strength – like attracts like.

If you are in the early stages of relationship this card could be asking you to be patient and to not move into relationship through sex alone. Have inner strength to form a real bond before giving away your body. It may end in disaster – the Lion may bite.

Depending on surrounding cards  it may also be heeding that you are ready in your own power to move into an intimate relationship but the person you are attracting may still be living in a ‘beastly’ unconscious world and you may have to endure a period of taming, of teaching. It is always your choice if you want to share this period with another. Be careful it may cause some pain, but it does suggest that you have the universal inner mastery to handle the situation.

In the ancient troth cards this is often seen as lust. Using will power to tame lust that may not be of benefit to your higher self. This could be a warning that you must not stray from a period of stagnation or difficulty from a relationship and turn towards sexuality alone as the outcome may be adverse. It may be asking you to see the value in what you have and endure a time of confusion for the sake of  love. Self mastery is required until you are aware of your true inner strength. If you do you will see that your love is just going through a normal phase and the test of time is inevitable.

Be careful and make sure that passions are sustainable in any affairs you may be indulging and that your reasons are not escapism.

aaaIn work, projects and money the strength card is advising you that endurance will or has turned the tide. You may have to be incredibly resourceful and accept past loses, use your vital inner qualities to overcome a battle of the wills. You have the power to go on if you can draw on your strengths and natural abilities.

Alternately, the Strength tarot card could mean that something is coming to an end, to have the strength to know it is time to walk away. You may have been given this challenge for self mastery and to accept that this destiny may not be of value to you any more. It may be asking you to be strong in a process of letting go. With inner power you will open up to more fulfilling and more peaceful path.

Spiritually the strength card signifies a pure and exalted power that is manifest from endurance and letting go. You are coming out of a rebirthing period and you are able to move in the world as authentic self, in self mastery.

It shows that you have accepted responsibility for the past and your place in the world. You are moving from a place of awareness, sincerity and your true power. You are able to be in the inner and outer world with a balanced sense of self. You have overcome the ego self and are able to surpass fears, control your impulses and create from a place of love and honesty.

Balance of body, mind and spirit create a world of pure strength and peace, you are there. Congratulations. And remember love is strength, fear is weakness.

The Hierophant tarot card meaning

hierophant tarotThe Heirophant falls gracefully into our tarot reading merging the unconscious with the conscious. Resulting in deeper love and greater awareness of self and others through mystic evolution.

It foretells that we are aligned with authentic self and abiding by the tradition of the natural law of give and take.

In a traditional setting the Hierophant sits upon a throne wearing a masterful garment. He is wearing a gold crown and his right arm is raised in the same way the magician does as it summons power from the universe to integrate into societal manifestation.

This symbolism of his dominance over the three worlds is further announced by the crossed key he is holding in his other hand that represents the unlocking of the mysteries of the world by the balancing unconscious and conscious thought. Two students lay before him in reverence signifying his role as teacher and the entry into shared intelligence.

The Hierophant keywords: sacred, marriage, esoteric, wisdom, seeking counsel, unlocking potential, study, right action, commitment.

As the Hierophant is a master of the laws of nature, this card could be heeding a person of great traditional authority coming into your life. It may be suggesting that you need to seek counsel outside of anything you have ever known. To reach further from your comfort zone for guidance. It warns that you may be in a rut (if this person is not you) and help is on its way.

The Hierophant is about ‘right action’. If you are at a crossroads it is asking you to go inner for the search or to seek a traditional teacher to guide you. Right action is about you, but it also about the group.

There may be questions arising in you about your true spiritual truth, there may be a battle between your spiritual knowledge and what is right for you; this card wants you to look beyond the structure of religion/philosophy and to use the resources of the universe to seek ‘right action’.

hierophant choiceThis card could be directing you to learn new skills or be signifying a period of study to master your current business or goals.

It is saying that there is more to learn and there is wise counsel available to you. Teachers, authority figures, and/or universal laws become important to you at this time and the message is to allow the idea that you can never stop growing, that there is always more to learn.

In love, the Hierophant foretell a spiritual marriage. Traditional ceremony, perhaps a proposal is on the cards.

If you are in a loving relationship, it signifies an impending commitment. If not you may meet someone that you can grow and evolve with, as spiritual connection will be the base of the love. Commitment will be present from the very start of the relationship. there will be no doubts.

True love does not consider time as an obstacle, it allows love to be free from the very beginning. There will be a knowing upon the very meeting of another soul. You may meet someone who is on the same spiritual path and is ready to fulfill the ambitions of togetherness and working through relationship. This person may come along as a teacher or a healer but they will stay for the long haul.

hierophant commitment tarotThe Hierophant has access to divine wisdom and wants to share this with a loved one – as that is the purpose of the soul. Through this kind of love and commitment we can be guided into contact with our life purpose through healing, companionship and interdependent spiritual understanding.

The person in your life, or who is coming into your life, will stand by your side and will allow you to grow with ease and commitment when  the Hierophant comes up in a reading.

It’s a very beautiful spiritual union. An honest one that although passes the stages of sexual desire, the passion remains sustainable and the relationship moves from the center of love space.

You have the potential to  undergo a sacred consciousness that will change your life forever, through Earthly commitment. Allow yourself to be vulnerable and growth and togetherness are assured.

Take a look at an interview with Dr Sally Adnams Jones about transformation and healing through creativity. Hopefully it will soothe your soul.togetherness are assured.

Queen of Swords – Woman of Crystals

Don’t mess with a woman with a sword – ME

Queen of swordsKeywords: intuition, female, strength, knowing, healing, insightful, down to earth, intelligent, clarity, cautious, clever, judgement, criticism

In the traditional decks the Queen of Swords depicts a woman on a throne holding a sword in one hand and offering her other hand in a gesture of serving. She is stern faced, upright, with a bird above her head and a clear blue sky.

This woman represents a solid strong character who is not easily fooled and can see through the layers of deception, but can also see the depths of human nature. She has the capacity to intuit deep love and deep suffering of those around her.

The sword pointing to the blue sky represents her ability to cut a fine line between truth and lies and is also a tool to point towards the true issues surrounding our life’s problems.

The Queen of Swords is a woman of great intellectual power. She resolves problems by using her intellect, but knows this must be in balance with sensitivities of the soul.

The clear sky (which the sword is pointing toward) represents the clarity and clearness of her thoughts and the bird above her indicates that she has intuition and the ability to see beyond the mind and to use all her higher knowledge to reach solutions in everyday issues.

This card is cautioning us to be mindful. To not be swayed by our emotions only. To use the gifts of a woman to make decisions. The gifts of the great female intellect. The beauty of the female intellect is that it has the capacity to see the facts and to feel through emotions and in combination of the two, to make profound decisions.

When this card comes up in a reading it can often literally represent a female in your life. It can be cautionary or assisting. It may be pointing toward a women in your life who is too controlling or it may be asking you to let go of control.

It is often asking the querent to be more discerning, to research, to use facts, to be aware of her emotions but to be careful not to allow them to rule single-handedly. It can be asking you to listen to your intuition but  to also investigate facts.

If the card is reversed it may by advising you to be careful of going backwards… imagine the sword backwards going into the foot – It can literally mean ‘stop stabbing yourself int the foot”.. Sometimes we go back to the comfort of the knwon even though it does not serve us – it feeds our pain – we keep repeating the same patterns over and over – the queen reversed is warning us to be careful of the abuse cycle that we are better off growing in the new instead of returning to the old worn ways.

queen of swordsIn love relationships this card may be referring to a specific person, and is always a woman. It will often indicate that a woman who is independent, strong intelligent and well grounded financially and emotionally, will be coming into your life or is already in your life.

It may be heeding a warning that you will be challenged in this love relationship to break down barrier of the intellect, to teach this person how to use their heart in matters of love or they may be here to teach you.

It may be suggesting that a life lesson in patience and unconditional love will be learned.

It could also calling for you to be more loving in a relationship. Often this woman is so focused on the intellect and material matters because she may find it too painful to feel her own suffering or be vulnerable in love.

This card will appear to heed a message that you or someone in your life may need to be less stubborn and controlling and may need to open their heart up more to allow in the essence of truth in love.

It is necessary to remember however that the mind is useful and her power and intellectual knowledge are useful – it could be a lesson to teach you to use your intellect to make greater decision in life, but to do so with heart and allowing others input.

If in relation to business and material affairs, this card suggests that a woman of great knowledge will be come in to assist you with excellent advise and know-how. If this card is you, it can indicate that you may need to be careful and do research and to consider all options or to seek professional advice before moving forward.

queen of swordsThe Queen could also be a guardian. A strong powerful but gentle woman may be coming into your life to help you on your journey. This card may be asking you to be open to this journey, to guide you to say yes, I do need help.

Or it could be you, it could be asking you to trust in your intellect and your own guardianship. Either way, you will be a learning journey and your decisions will have to be based on facts, data and knowledge.

This card tells you you are safe if you follow your heart but do so with a strong guardian of truth and background of wisdom.

Spiritually this card has strong energetic foundations. She is surrounded by Earth’s knowledge; she is calling on you to open your heart and your mind and to dig into the depths of your soul and to nurture your greater intuitive self.

Listen to your dreams, feel the tugging in your heart and allow in the growth and humility of letting go of control.

Many wonderful crystals are forming and she wants you to reach out and choose the ones that will help heal your soul and strengthen your heart.

All in all the Queen is an intelligent strong woman who is concerned for the whole community she governs. Her role is to make wise and profitable decisions based on the good of all. This card says you have the power to do so. Go inner and feel, then find the hard facts, then take action.
