Last night in my meditations a spirit guide spoke these words to me “You will find love on the other side of your ego” and there in lay the Temperance card.
The Temperance card may seem all light and fluffy but it holds within itself a deep importance and substance that is integral to life energy and love relationships – peace and calm.
We see an angel with wings of feather, amid a lush pond, standing at the water’s edge, pouring water from one golden cup to another. The golden triangle on the chest of the white robes is an ancient symbol of healing.
The stream of water between the two cups is the act of finding the right balance between two sides, creating equality by integrating the subconscious and the conscious mind. The sun setting upon the mountain in the grey background illustrates that there is serenity throughout the muckiness of life and illusional situations.
Temperance is contemplative, calm, solitary and balanced. It involves moderation, acceptance, peace of mind, compassion and goodness.
If the temperance card comes up in a relationship query it could be a warning to step back and to go inside – to reassess and to see if equality is the base of the love relationship. It suggests that the active mind and the unconscious are not aligned and you may be needing respite from the relationship to seek truth.
Is your relationship balanced? Are you balanced emotionally, physically, spiritually? Are you being treated fairly? Are you being fair?
Temperance may alternately be asking you to stay calm in a difficult situation. Your relationship may have trouble and the cards are asking you to stay cool and collected and to step into your own integrity and allow the external to unfold.
You do not have to put yourself in the middle of someone else’s burdens. Love that is deep and real will not leave you – it will still be there when the tide comes in – when the storm passes – if it isn’t you will know soon enough.
You may be being called to show your personal power and strengths to ensure your love is honest and real or that you are being treated with honour and respect. Patience is key here. It could be a time of restraint and standing alone.
The unknown is prevalent, but it heeds being true to yourself and making fair and just choices.
Co-operation is integral to any successful fulfilling relationship and this card wants you to know the power of co-operation. Co-operating between two people makes a relationship strong and healthy – if one person is not available or not adapting the relationship will fail.
Ask yourself “Am I co-operating?” – “Is my partner present?” – “How can I communicate my needs and concerns without blame or anger?” – “should I move back and allow regeneration of self” – “Is this what I truly want?”
If you have just met someone or are single this card may be asking you to stay calm and to not rush things – the angels are on your side and your steady pace will assist in the unfolding and healthy development of love.
It may be advising that you have indeed reached a period of balance and self acceptance that will allow love to come to you in a real way. Stay open and stay calm and true to yourself.
In relation to work and goals the temperance card says you are on the right track and you have sufficient balance in your undertakings. You may need to let go a bit and allow.
This card wants you to know that you have done all you could and that now it is time to sustain a balanced approach and to be open and calm in your transactions and services. The hard work is over – you can now gently enjoy the rewards.
If you are working with others this card suggests that you may need to take a back seat and allow someone else to steer the ship for a while. They may have more business knowledge or a skill that you do not possess and it is safe to allow them to take the reigns while you concentrate on your role.
Spiritually this card is about a time of self acceptance – usually after a struggle or a crisis.
The Temperance card suggests that you have found a balance between your true desires and your self worth. You have overcome the heartache or disappointment and have become gentle and soft in your approach to yourself and your life.
You have acquired a balanced perspective in your inner world and your outer world is following suit.
It could mean that a time of solitude is nearing its end and you are ready to embark on new beginnings as you have found sincere peace and honest strength. If this is not the case this card is warning that you need alone time to reflect and heal.
It is calling for you to understand the truths of your situation by going inner, by accepting the past and letting it go.
Regardless of what is happening in your life this card wants you to stay calm and centered. You will benefit with a lovely and prosperous outcome if you listen to your higher self, respond not react and live with sincerity to your hearts language.
Allow the flow of external events to take there course and remember your divinity.
